2 findings - discovery and first-touch conversion

01
Homepage

Add CTA for featured products to UGC Videos

CellBell current state - Add CTA for featured products to UGC Videos
Current CellBell today
Recommended mockup - Add CTA for featured products to UGC Videos
Proposed Growisto mockup

Observations

  • The homepage currently showcases user-generated content (UGC) videos that highlight our products in action, providing authentic social proof; however, these videos lack product tags or direct mentions, making it difficult for interested viewers to identify the items being displayed.
  • There is a significant lack of clear calls-to-action (CTAs) within or alongside these video assets, which creates a friction-filled user experience that prevents customers from taking the next step in their purchasing journey.
  • By failing to link these engaging videos to specific product pages, the brand is missing a critical opportunity to drive conversions and increase cart additions, effectively leaving potential revenue on the table.

Recommendations

  • Implement shoppable video tags: Integrate direct product tagging within the UGC video player, allowing users to click on items as they appear to view product details and navigate directly to purchase pages.
  • Integrate prominent calls-to-action (CTAs): Add clear, context-aware CTAs (e.g., "Shop this look" or "Add to cart") directly on or adjacent to all video assets to guide users seamlessly through the purchasing journey.
  • Optimize conversion tracking: Link all UGC video assets to their respective product pages to reduce friction, enable accurate attribution of sales driven by social proof, and maximize potential revenue.

Homepage

Add CTA and swatches to Best Sellers and products on Homepage

CellBell current state - Add CTA and swatches to Best Sellers and products on Homepage
Current CellBell today
Recommended mockup - Add CTA and swatches to Best Sellers and products on Homepage
Proposed Growisto mockup

Observations

  • Homepage product cards - including the Best Sellers rail - carry no direct "Add to Cart" action, so every purchase intent has to route through a full product-page load first.
  • Colour and variant swatches are absent from the product thumbnails, so shoppers cannot confirm the option they want without opening the product page.
  • High-intent shoppers arriving on the homepage therefore have no short path to purchase, and impulse additions to the cart are lost at the point where interest is highest.

Observations text in the source deck duplicated the recommendations; restated here as the observed gap.

Recommendations

  • Implement direct "Add to Cart" buttons on homepage product cards to reduce friction. This allows users to initiate purchases immediately without navigating to individual product pages.
  • Integrate color and variant swatches directly into the product thumbnails. Providing this visual selection on the homepage helps users confirm their preferences and increases the likelihood of conversion.
  • Leverage these elements to streamline the path to purchase for high-intent shoppers. By surfacing key decision-making tools earlier, you create more opportunities for impulse additions to the cart.

3 findings - navigation and add-to-cart friction

03
Collection / PLP

Add Categories to Collection Page to navigate better

CellBell current state - Add Categories to Collection Page to navigate better
Current CellBell today
Recommended mockup - Add Categories to Collection Page to navigate better
Proposed Growisto mockup

Observations

  • The collection page currently lacks essential navigation elements, specifically category headers, product counts, and breadcrumbs. These omissions make it more difficult for customers to orient themselves while browsing.
  • Including categories on the collection page allows customers to quickly filter and navigate to their preferred shopping sections. This targeted approach helps reduce decision fatigue by narrowing down the available options.
  • Providing clear navigation and category organization supports a smoother shopping experience and encourages more frequent cart additions. Improving these features directly contributes to higher conversion rates.

Recommendations

  • The collection page should incorporate essential navigation elements, specifically category headers, product counts, and breadcrumbs. These additions will help customers orient themselves more effectively while browsing.
  • Including categories on the collection page will allow customers to quickly filter and navigate to their preferred shopping sections. This targeted approach should reduce decision fatigue by narrowing down the available options.
  • Providing clear navigation and category organization will support a smoother shopping experience and encourage more frequent cart additions. Improving these features should directly contribute to higher conversion rates.
04
Collection / PLP

Add "Add to Cart" and "Buy Now" buttons to product cards on PLP.

CellBell current state - Add "Add to Cart" and "Buy Now" buttons to product cards on PLP.
Current CellBell today
Recommended mockup - Add "Add to Cart" and "Buy Now" buttons to product cards on PLP.
Proposed Growisto mockup

Observations

  • The current product listing page (PLP) cards lack essential interactive elements like "Add to Cart" or "Buy Now" buttons. Additionally, they do not provide color swatch options for quick selection.
  • Including these features on the PLP would streamline the user experience by enabling direct cart additions. This improvement effectively reduces the overall purchase journey for customers.
  • By implementing these buttons and swatches, users can bypass the product detail page entirely. This shortcut facilitates a faster and more efficient checkout process.

Recommendations

  • We recommend integrating "Add to Cart" or "Buy Now" buttons directly onto the product listing page (PLP) cards. Furthermore, adding color swatches would allow users to make immediate selections.
  • Implementing these features on the PLP would enhance the user experience by facilitating direct purchases. This optimization significantly simplifies the overall customer buying journey.
  • By incorporating these interactive elements, users can bypass the product detail page entirely. This enhancement promotes a more streamlined and efficient checkout process.
05
Collection / PLP

Add "Related Categories" on PLP for strategic upsells.

CellBell current state - Add "Related Categories" on PLP for strategic upsells.
Current CellBell today
Recommended mockup - Add "Related Categories" on PLP for strategic upsells.
Proposed Growisto mockup

Observations

  • Product Listing Pages (PLPs) currently lack related categories, which contributes to funnel abandonment when customers cannot find their desired items. The site does not provide redirection to alternative or more relevant categories.
  • The website fails to keep users engaged within the purchasing journey by omitting immediate navigation options, causing the sales funnel to break.
  • The absence of these links misses valuable opportunities for upselling by failing to guide customers toward related products. Consequently, when a specific search fails, the customer is not encouraged to remain on the site.

Recommendations

  • Adding related categories to Product Listing Pages (PLPs) prevents funnel abandonment when customers cannot find their desired items. This feature provides a seamless redirection to alternative or more relevant categories.
  • This strategy keeps users engaged within the purchasing journey by offering immediate navigation options. It effectively maintains the sales funnel instead of allowing it to break.
  • Implementing these links creates valuable opportunities for upselling by guiding customers toward related products. It ensures that even if a specific search fails, the customer remains on the site.

2 findings - page structure and video shopability

06
Product page

Add sticky Header Section to the PDP for easy navigation

CellBell current state - Add sticky Header Section to the PDP for easy navigation
Current CellBell today
Recommended mockup - Add sticky Header Section to the PDP for easy navigation
Proposed Growisto mockup

Observations

  • The Product Detail Page (PDP) suffers from excessive length, making it difficult for users to navigate effectively. The current structure lacks a header or sticky navigation to help users jump to specific sections.
  • This design results in an overwhelming, unbroken chain of elements that fatigues the user. Without proper organization, the content becomes cumbersome to scan or process.
  • Implementing a sticky header would significantly improve usability by providing quick access to key information. This would transform the page into a structured, user-friendly experience.

Recommendations

  • Implement a sticky header or navigation bar to allow users to jump to specific sections and navigate the Product Detail Page (PDP) more effectively.
  • Break up the current long, unbroken chain of elements to reduce user fatigue and improve content scannability.
  • Organize the page structure to prevent content from becoming cumbersome to process.
  • Prioritize the implementation of a sticky header to provide quick access to key information and create a more structured, user-friendly experience.
07
Product page

Add sticky Add to Cart to featured UGC videos on PDP.

CellBell current state - Add sticky Add to Cart to featured UGC videos on PDP.
Current CellBell today
Recommended mockup - Add sticky Add to Cart to featured UGC videos on PDP.
Proposed Growisto mockup

Observations

  • The current user-generated content video experience on the product detail page lacks a persistent "Add to Cart" button during full-screen playback. This design oversight forces customers to exit the immersive video view before they can initiate a purchase.
  • Removing the direct path to checkout during the viewing process creates unnecessary friction in the customer journey. By interrupting the shopping flow, the site risks losing potential conversions from highly engaged users.
  • Integrating a sticky "Add to Cart" button within the full-screen video overlay would keep the purchase intent front and center. This simple addition ensures that customers can act immediately on their interest without navigating away from the content.

Recommendations

  • Implement a persistent "Add to Cart" button within the full-screen video experience on the product detail page. This change eliminates the need for customers to exit the immersive view to initiate a purchase.
  • Reduce friction in the customer journey by maintaining a direct path to checkout during video playback. This strategy prevents the interruption of the shopping flow and preserves conversion opportunities for engaged users.

3 findings - order value and checkout friction

08
Cart

Add Free Shipping Progress Bar to Cart

CellBell current state - Add Free Shipping Progress Bar to Cart
Current CellBell today
Recommended mockup - Add Free Shipping Progress Bar to Cart
Proposed Growisto mockup

Observations

  • The current cart design lacks dynamic elements that engage users during the checkout process. It fails to provide interactive features that could enhance the user experience.
  • There is no incentive-showing bar, such as a progress tracker for free shipping, to motivate customers. This omission removes a key opportunity to encourage higher spending.
  • The interface does not include tools designed to boost order values or incentivize additional purchases. Consequently, the cart misses potential chances to increase the average transaction amount.

Recommendations

  • Implement dynamic elements within the cart design to better engage users throughout the checkout process and enhance the overall user experience.
  • Incorporate an incentive-showing bar, such as a free shipping progress tracker, to motivate customers and encourage higher spending.
  • Integrate tools designed to boost order values and incentivize additional purchases to help increase the average transaction amount.
09
Cart

Add upsell products to cart for increased AOV

CellBell current state - Add upsell products to cart for increased AOV
Current CellBell today
Recommended mockup - Add upsell products to cart for increased AOV
Proposed Growisto mockup

Observations

  • Failing to implement upsell opportunities misses the chance to increase transaction size through strategic product suggestions. Without these prompts, customers are less likely to add complementary items during checkout.
  • The absence of personalized recommendations prevents the site from leveraging social proof to guide customers. This limits discovery and reduces the ability to improve overall purchase depth.
  • Static carts represent a lost opportunity to nudge users toward higher-value interactions. Implementing dynamic features would transform the page into a conversion-focused touchpoint that encourages additional engagement.

Recommendations

  • Implement upsell opportunities to capture chances to increase transaction size through strategic product suggestions. With these prompts, customers are more likely to add complementary items during checkout.
  • Introduce personalized recommendations to allow the site to leverage social proof to guide customers. This enhances discovery and increases the ability to improve overall purchase depth.
  • Replace static carts to capture the opportunity to nudge users toward higher-value interactions. Implementing dynamic features will transform the page into a conversion-focused touchpoint that encourages additional engagement.
10
Cart

Add a coupon-code field to the cart

CellBell current state - Add a coupon-code field to the cart
Current CellBell today
Recommended mockup - Add a coupon-code field to the cart
Proposed Growisto mockup

Observations

  • The checkout flow currently lacks a coupon field, which often causes users to leave the site to search for discounts elsewhere, ultimately increasing cart abandonment.
  • The absence of a coupon field fails to leverage the psychological trigger of validating a user's desire to save money, missing a final nudge that could help complete their purchase.
  • The lack of a dedicated field prevents the use of targeted A/B tests and seasonal campaigns, making it difficult to measure how specific discounts might impact overall conversion metrics.

Recommendations

  • Adding a coupon field prevents users from leaving your site to search for discounts elsewhere. This keeps them within your checkout flow and reduces cart abandonment.
  • A coupon field leverages psychological triggers by validating a user's desire to save money. This provides a final nudge to help them complete their purchase.
  • Dedicated fields allow for targeted A/B tests and seasonal campaigns. These features help you measure how specific discounts impact your overall conversion metrics.

03 · Performance

Mobile performance is the headline gap

Google Lighthouse lab scores, run 21 August 2026. Core Web Vitals: 1 of 5 passing.

35/100

Mobile — Lighthouse

Poor. First-time visitor, cold cache, throttled connection.

60/100

Desktop — Lighthouse

Needs work. Closest metric to crossing a passing band.

2.8s

LCP — real users (CrUX)

28-day field data. INP 150 ms, CLS 0.14. Overall: average.

LCP19.6sLargest Contentful PaintFAIL
FCP5.6sFirst Contentful PaintFAIL
TBT710msTotal Blocking TimeFAIL
CLS0.117Cumulative Layout ShiftNEEDS WORK
INP150msInteraction to Next PaintPASS

Read this carefully — the two datasets disagree

The lab test simulates a first-time visitor on a cold cache and throttled mobile connection — that is where the 35/100 comes from. Real Chrome users score materially better because repeat visits are cached. Both are true. The lab number matters because it describes the exact session in which a new prospect decides whether to stay, and new-visitor sessions are where acquisition spend lands. INP is the one metric passing comfortably: the site responds quickly once it has loaded. The problem is getting it loaded — a 19.6-second largest-paint and 710 ms of blocked main thread point at the third-party script load rather than at the theme itself.

04 · Competitive performance

How CellBell compares on mobile

Lighthouse mobile performance score — all four sites tested in one session.

CellBell
35
Green Soul
26
beAAtho
41
Nilkamal
64

Not a CellBell-specific failure.

Three of four brands in this category sit under 50. Mobile performance is a category-wide weakness.

Nilkamal is the outlier.

At 64 mobile and 86 desktop, it is the only competitor that has genuinely invested here.

CellBell already leads its closest rival.

Green Soul — the nearest direct D2C competitor — scores 26, nine points behind.

This is cheap ground to take.

No competitor except Nilkamal is defending it, so speed work buys differentiation, not just parity.

Cell colour reflects Google’s own thresholds — green passes, amber needs improvement, red fails. CellBell’s desktop score of 60 and CLS of 0.117 are the two metrics closest to crossing into a passing band, which makes them the most efficient first targets.

05 · Technology assessment

4 of 6 areas are well-configured

Two need attention: the theme’s variant-picker defect and the volume of third-party scripts.

Platform

GOOD

Shopify

Custom storefront theme on Shopify. Auto-scaling hosting and PCI-compliant infrastructure inherited from the platform.

Theme

NEEDS WORK

Cellbell Layout

Custom variant-picker and facet components. Several product colour swatches render with no colour fill - a template defect, not a missing feature.

Checkout

GOOD

Native Shopify

No checkout-overlay app (Shopflo / GoKwik) in the script payload. Razorpay Magic Checkout scripts are present.

Payments

GOOD

Razorpay

UPI, cards, netbanking and wallets via Razorpay, plus COD, Snapmint BNPL and card-linked no-cost EMI.

CDN & scripts

NEEDS WORK

Shopify CDN

10+ distinct third-party script domains load on a single product page - each adds connection and parse cost on mobile.

Security

GOOD

SSL / TLS active

HTTPS enforced site-wide. PCI DSS compliance inherited via Shopify and Razorpay.

06 · App ecosystem

11 apps detected — 9 working as intended, 2 partial

Identified from the live script payload, not inferred from brand size. A full stack for a furniture D2C brand.

The one clear gap: basket-building

Zero cross-sell, bundle or post-purchase merchandising apps were detected. Nothing on the site surfaces “customers also bought” or bundle recommendations, so basket-building is left entirely to the shopper. Payments, urgency, video and support are covered — merchandising is not.

CRITICAL

Cross-sell / bundle recommendations

Rebuy - ReConvert - Frequently Bought Together

Surfaces complementary products on the product page and in the cart. On a catalogue where most chairs sit between Rs.4,000 and Rs.13,000, a single accessory or second-seat attachment moves order value meaningfully.

RECOMMENDED

Post-purchase / thank-you page upsell

ReConvert - CartHook

Offers a follow-on product after the order is placed, when payment friction is already gone. Adds revenue without touching the pre-purchase funnel or paid acquisition cost.

07 · Next steps

Where we would start

Four moves, ordered by effort-to-impact ratio.

  • 01

    Cut the mobile cold-start

Trim and defer the 10+ third-party script domains loading on a single product page. That is what drives the 19.6s lab LCP and 710ms of blocked main thread.

  • 02

    Shorten the path to cart

Add-to-cart and colour swatches on homepage and collection cards, related categories on PLP, and a sticky header plus in-video add-to-cart on the product page. Seven of the ten UX findings sit on this path.

  • 03

    Fix the variant-picker defect

Restore colour fills on the product colour swatches. A template-level fix, not a redesign - the picker already works, it just renders blank.

  • 04

    Add basket-building

Introduce cross-sell and bundle merchandising in cart, a coupon field, and a post-purchase upsell. The only category in the app stack with nothing in it.
